Declaring a Disaster . . .
If your credit union location is experiencing inclement weather and would like to prepare for a possible disaster, or in the situation where a disaster has occurred, follow the steps below to alert Galaxy and begin restoration of your services.
- It is recommended that you run a new Trial Balance and a Member Name/Address report daily until the situation has settled.
- If you are forced to evacuate your building, please power down your equipment and unplug it from the electricity. If possible, elevate the equipment to a higher platform to avoid damage from flooding.
- Call the Galaxy Disaster Declaration Hotline at 1.800.876.9000, press 5, then 1 to activate your recovery plan.
- Describe the nature of the emergency and provide your credit union name, contact name and phone numbers where you can be reached. Galaxy recommends that you have a second contact name and number in the event that the first contact can't be reached.
- Initiate your calling tree to notify your staff and vendors of the disaster.
- Review and/or activate your business continuity plan.
